You need Command Line Tools installed in Xcode by
「Xcode->Preferences->Downloads」->「Command Line Tools」

configure: error: This Fortran compiler is not supported for a 32-bit/i386 build.
I used gfortran from brew
GNU Fortran (GCC) 4.8.2

brew install gfortran --enable-multilib
(thanks to Sakai-kun)
and build heasoft again.
This solves the error.
